A Note From the Editors
Anlat Istanbul began with a simple question: what if a city could speak in stories? Every email you send — a forgotten recipe, a rooftop at golden hour, a stranger's kindness on the 6:30 ferry — becomes part of that conversation.
We read every message personally, usually within 48 hours. We do not use chatbots, and we do not sell your details. This is a small editorial desk, and your trust is the wind in our sails.
Find Us Across the City — and Online
Our editorial team works between Karaköy and Kadıköy, with reporting trips that take us from the Theodosian walls to the Princes' Islands. If you are in town, our open studio hours run every Thursday afternoon.
Prefer the digital ferry? Follow our daily dispatches across the platforms below, where we share the stories that did not make the main edition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept guest submissions from outside Istanbul?
Yes. We commission writers, photographers, and filmmakers from across the world, provided the story is rooted in authentic Istanbul experience. Pitch us your angle and three sample links.
Can I share a story about my own neighborhood?
Absolutely — in fact, we prefer it. The best pieces come from residents who know the rhythm of their mahalle. Send us 200 words and we will take it from there.
Do you work with tourism brands and hotels?
Selectively, and only when the storytelling brief aligns with our editorial voice. We do not publish sponsored content disguised as journalism — readers always know the difference.
How quickly will I hear back?
We aim to reply within 48 hours on weekdays. Longer reads and partnership proposals may take up to a week, but every message receives a human response.
